We are ready to sit in the
opposition, stated opposition leader Manohar Parrikar today evening, reacting
to UGDP MLA Babush Monseratte withdrawing support to his Goa Democratic Alliance.
His
comment has established a fact that the GDA is now not in a position to go ahead
with its claim to form an alternate government.
However, according to the
BJP leader, seeking Monseratte's support to the Congress-led alliance proves the
fact that chief minister Digambar Kamat was in minority.
Kamat, on the other
hand, refuses to disclose the number of supporters he has.
"I won
the confidence by voice vote. I am prepared to prove it even further if asked
for", he told the media persons at his Altinho residence.
"It
was not me but people like Monseratte who had taken initiative in topping the
Kamat government. What can I do if he has changed the sides", asked Parrikar
in disgust.
Parrikar is still in Delhi, along with his GDA colleagues. Churchill
Alemao and Alex Reginald Lawrenco however returned to Goa today afternoon.
According
to him, any party is free to take a decision regarding whom to support.
MGP
leader Sudin Dhavalikar however reiterated his support to the GDA. Besides the
MGP duo, independent MLA Anil Salgaoncar is also part of the GDA.
Alemao
however was not available for his comments.
