auspices of the Vivekanand Kala Sadarikaran Manch, along
with Konkani Bhasha Mandal, will also be graced by Nirmala

Hall at Valpoi at 3.30 pm. Young artists and writers
from all over Goa are expected to attend the function.
The Osmitai Jyot has been organised
by the Goa Yuva Mahotsav of Konkani Bhasha Mandal to
spread the message over Mhadei issue, which has become
the prime issue of Goan identity today, as this year
has been declared as Identity Year to mark 125th birth
anniversary of Shenoi Goembab. The Identity Torch will
tour the whole state from 15th August to 19th December,
the Liberation Day.
A cultural programme, co-ordinated by
Pramod Mhadeshwar, the young artist from Sattari, will
follow the formal function. Several cultural groups
from all over Goa will perform street plays, mime, Patekar,
Konkani Pop and Sokarat on the issues of Mhadei
and Identity.
Earlier, the torch will be brought to
the venue in a procession, which will begin from the
Our Lady of Lourdes Highschool ground at 3 pm.
