Victoria Fernandes today
withdrew her resignation as the Congress MLA.
However, she lost her chairpersonship
of Kadamba Transport Corporation as well as the cabinet-rank post of the Parliamentary
secretary.
Victoria had resigned on 25th July, in an attempt to topple the
Digambar Kamat government.
Her action is a follow-up of PWD minister Churchill
Alemao's two-member Save Goa Front as well as Babush Monseratte's one-member UGDP
supporting the Kamat government.
They had earlier taken initiative in toppling
the Kamat government, but failed miserably.
Speaker Pratapsing Rane, who
had not accepted her resignation letter, is yet to decide on her letter to withdraw
her resignation.
It is significant since St Cruz seat would fall vacant
if her resignation letter is finally accepted, paving way for Babush, who would
probably field his wife Jennifer as the Congress candidate in the by-election
that would be held.
Meanwhile, besides the PWD, Churchill has also been
allotted the portfolio of science and technology.
