Another
aspect that will be brought up by food experts is the gradual decline in preference
for traditional Goan food preparations and the threat it faces as western culinary
practices gain predominance in Goan homes.
"Over the years, Goa has
evolved from being a quiet state with beautiful virgin beaches to a bustling tourist
epicentre. This has enticed food businesses that comprise essentially of restaurants
that started to serve fusion cuisine. Due to lack of dedication and interest to
maintain accuracy by such restaurants, Goan cuisine began losing favour and authenticity,"
Rao said.
The organizers have also planned a year-long campaign to promote
authentic Goan cuisine in India and abroad.
