route, derailed at 1.40 today early morning at Mayem in the
Goa sector.
No casualties or injuries however were reported.
The last five bogies, including four fully packed with 300
passengers and the guard room, were detached and the train
left for Mangalore at 4.17 am with all the passengers.
According to Bicholim police inspector Sandesh Chodankar,
the bogies derailed due to a crack in one of the rails. No

The police informed that the work of removing the derailed
bogies from the track would be completed by 5 pm today, resuming
the rail traffic.
All the trains running on the route are delayed while others
