Victoria protests,
sits on fast

St Cruz MLA Victoria Fernandes suddenly went on a fast today
afternoon, near the old Secretariat, in protest of not inducting
her into the cabinet.
"I have been deliberately kept out to safeguard the
land sharks, which are behind the destructive Regional Plan",
she alleged.
According to Mummy, as she is widely known, she was initially
assured the cabinet post and was dropped last minute.
Though she admits that chief minister Digambar Kamat has
assured her the post of parliamentary secretary, Victoria
states the cabinet rank of such kind does not allow her to
sit at the cabinet meeting.
Kamat has however expressed helplessness over the issue,
stating that he has abided by the high command, which has
finalised the list of Congress ministers.
Victoria had come out openly against the Regional Plan 2001,
while supporting the state-wide historic agitation that forced
the Congress government to scrap the plan.
