St Cruz MLA Victoria Fernandes was shifted to Goa Medical
College hospital at midnight after chief minister Digambar
Kamat visited her personally.
Victoria had started fast-unto-death in protest of not granting
her ministerial position yesterday.
Her supporters had even stopped police-escorted car of minister
Ravi Naik, thinking that the chief minister was passing by
the road, near the old secretariat.
Save Goa Front leader Churchill Alemao, BJP MLA Damu Naik
and newly inducted minister Alexio Sequeira also visited her
during the day. She was sidelined, it is learnt, due to Sequeira.
Kamat visited her at 1.30 am today, assuring her the post
of parliamentary secretary (holding ministerial rank), chairmanship
of a corporation and all the developmental works in her constituency
on priority basis.
Meanwhile, Kamat has left for Delhi to finalise the portfolios
to be granted to the newly inducted 12-member cabinet.
