While the ruling BJP at centre is yet to recover from the
debacle in the Assembly polls held recently, Goa's BJP government
has reportedly proposed to the Governor to dissolve the state
Assembly.
Though chief minister Manohar Parrikar is yet to confirm
the news, his cabinet colleagues as well as party sources
confirm that a decision in this regard was take at a hurriedly
convened cabinet meeting today morning.
This is perhaps a counter move to fizzle out plans of some
disgruntled elements within BJP cabinet to split and form
alternate government, joining hands with the Congress.
It is learnt that chief minister Manohar Parrikar has rushed
to the Raj Bhavan to propose dissolution of Goa Assembly.
He is likely to address a press conference in this regard
in the afternoon, after meeting Governor Mohammad Fazal.
