Guv asks for trust vote on Mon

Sandesh Prabhudesai
28 July 2007

Governor S C Jamir has told chief minister Digambar Kamat to prove his majority on the floor of the House on Monday.

Disclosing this to the media, Kamat said the session on Monday would begin with the trust vote, as per his directives.

Victoria Fernandes is still the Congress MLA and I have 20 MLAs with me, said Kamat, while expressing full confidence of winning the trust vote.

When asked about the reported move to file disqualification petitions against the two Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party legislators, he expressed ignorance.

"I am not aware if any MLA is planning to file such petition", he however added.

The chief minister however was critical of the move of Goa Democratic Alliance members parading in front of Pratibha Patil, the president of India.

"I cannot understand the logic when the Assembly is in session", he quipped.
