INFOFEST at Goa University

The Department of Computer Science and Technology (DCST) of Goa University is organising its eighth annual national level IT meet, “INFOFEST 2003”, from 30 January 30 to 1 February 1.

The event will be inaugurated by IT minister Francisco D’Souza. Prof Jayant Budkuley, Registrar of Goa University, will preside over.

Many innovative competitions for students of MCA, B. Sc and BCA from all over India will be held during the three-day event. The event has carved a place as one of the most prestigious inter-collegiate IT students’ meet in the country.

Besides the competitive events, seminars conducted by eminent industry persons is another attraction of the three-day meet. This time, a seminar on “Wireless LAN” will be presented by Proxim, Bangalore and on “Web Services” using dot.net technology will be conducted by Microsoft, Bangalore on the last day.

The prize distribution function and closing ceremony will be held on 1 February in the presence of GCCI president Nitin Kuncoliekar. Vice Chancellor Prof P S Zacharias will preside over.

At least eight teams each from outside Goa and from Goa are expected to participate in the three day meet titled “Battle of Wits for Bits”.
