Murder of democracy : BJP

Sandesh Prabhudesai
30 July 2007

The Bharatiya Janata Party has described today's drama of winning the trust vote as murder of democracy.

They have asked Governor S C Jamir to immediately dismiss the Digambar Kamat government.

Talking to the media after returning from the Raj Bhavan, opposition leader Manohar Parrikar said the speaker's decision to refrain Dhavalikar brothers was an act in partisan.

"The decision was taken ex-parte, without even serving them notices or hearing them in person", he said.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the central observer of the BJP, termed the voting in the House a farce. The Congress did not even ask for the division vote, he added.

The BJP is planning to once again meet President of India if no decision on dismissal of the government by tonight.
