Digambar-Parrikar for Delhi

Sandesh Prabhudesai
31 July 2007

Chief minister Digambar Kamat is leaving for Delhi today morning along with his colleagues to meet President of India as well as the high command.

The BJP, on the other hand, is moving to the Supreme Court, challenging the speaker's decision to restrain Dhavalikar brothers from voting.

Kamat has ruled out the possibility of imposing President's Rule, claiming that he has already proved his majority in the House by winning the trust vote.

Accordingly, he is planning to meet President Pratibha Patil as well as union home minister Shivraj Patil, besides Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Goa Democratic Alliance leaders, led by Manohar Parrikar, are also planning to meet both the President and the union home minister, demanding dismissal of the government.
