The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has not decided its
strategy in case the existing government is toppled.
"We have decided to sit in the opposition since people
have not given us mandate to rule", said local BJP chief
Shripad Naik.
He also assured not to make any moves to topple the government.
However, he declined to comment on whether they would be
active to form alternate government, if the existing Congress-led
alliance is toppled.
Both Churchill Alemao of the Save Goa Front and Babush Monseratte
of the United Goans Democratic Party are together trying to
topple the government by wooing at least three Congress legislators
to quit and face by-elections.
Meanwhile, moves are afoot also to merge the UGDP into SGF
as a first step towards this.
