For the second year in a row Goa's premier news channel Prudent Media has been selected as IFFI TV, a parallel channel for the ongoing International film festival of India (IFFI) 2010, officials said today.

The news and entertainment channel, operating from Panaji, will provide live coverage to all the functions and happenings of IFFI, which began in the city on November 22.

"We provide live coverage to all the delegates through the Televisions installed at the venues and also on our main channel," Sandesh Prabhudesai, Editor-in-Chief, Prudent Media told PTI.

The channel has set up its studio in festival premises with a separate control room. Prabhudesai said that team of 55 professionals are working round-the-clock generating 6 to 7 hours of content every day.

"It's not just about shooting the happenings. Everything is properly conceptualised and shown in a packaged format," Prabhudesai said.

Besides covering the events at the fest, the channel also hosts debates with the filmmakers and people from the cinema world.

"There are chat shows, parties, breaking news, news scrolls and half an hour bulletin exclusively on IFFI, telecast on the channel," Prabhudesai added.

In an innovative concept, directors of the films being screened at IFFI are allotted slots to come live on the channel and ask people to see their films.

"The director can explain about his film to the delegates through the channel in order to convince them to watch it," Prabhudesai said.
