Goa govt to send 1500 students to Kanyakumari

 

Goa government is planning to send 1500 students to Kanyakumari this year as a part of 150th birth anniversary year celebrations of Swami Vivekanand.

Chief minister Manohar Parrikar said students from Std V to XII would be selected, under Bharat Darshan programme.

Five students from each school and higher secondary school would be selected under this  programme.

The announcement was made while speaking at a function held in Panaji yesterday to celebrate 150th  birth anniversary  of Swami Vivekanand.

The function was jointly organized by  the Directorate of Education and State Council of Educational Research and Training at Master Dinanath  Mangeshkar hall at Kala Academy.

Former Maharashtra MLC Dr Ashok Modak on the occasion spoke at length on the life of Swami Vivekanand.

Datta Naik, chairman of the celebration committee and Panaji Mayor Vaidehi Naik also spoke.

Yuganayak, a book on the life of Swami Vivekanand  by  Swarnalata  Bhishikar was also  released at the hands of the Chief Minister on the occasion.

Director of Education D P  Dwivedi welcomed while  IAS, welcomed the gathering while Director of SCERT Nagraj Honnekeri proposed a vote of thanks. Subhash Jaan compered.

Provide all the students some thing or the other so that all students are participated with their own interest. In turn, it helps to build the social responsibility among the young mind along the many other benefits. Studens should be from both Government and Non-Govt, and Aided schools.
