BJP elected on Hindu votes, shouldn’t appease minorities: BBSM

Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, led by the RSS and Konkani stalwarts, has openly played Hindu-Christian chord in electoral politics, in view of the Medium of Instruction controversy.

BBSM leader Aravind Bhatikar has told the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government not to appease the minorities by giving grants to Church-run English medium primary schools.

“Your voter is Hindu. You are in power because of Hindus. Remember this and stop appeasing the minorities”, he said at a press conference convened by the BBSM today.

He also asked the saffron party to review why the BJP-sponsored candidates lost in the municipal elections, especially in the Christian-dominated Salcete taluka.

Margao municipality, consisting of Margao and Fatorda Assembly constiutencies as well as Cuncolim municipality is today led by Congress and independent MLA Vijai Sardesai, by defeating the BJP.

Not Margao and Fatorda, but Cuncolim has a BJP MLA Subhash Naik.

VELINGKAR DARES BJP

Subhash Velingkar, Goa’s RSS chief and another BBSM leader, dared the government led by his own BJP to pass the bill in the forthcoming Assembly session in January.

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar as well as legislators of BJP-led alliance had assured the Forum for the Right of Children’s Education (FORCE) in the August Assembly session to amend the education act, giving grants to only Church-run English medium primary schools.

Parents belonging to FORCE had paralysed the whole state on 31 July by blocking the national highways passing through Goa at different locations in the state.

The BBSM has now planned an aggressive second phase of agitation, beginning from next month, by forming committees at village level and submitting ‘MoI File’ to all the 40 MLAs.

In view of this, the BBSM has convened a meeting of its hard-core 150 activists at Hedgewar High School in Panaji on Sunday morning.

The BBSM has also condemned the government for not releasing additional fund assured to privately run Konkani and Marathi medium primary schools in the state.

The BBSM cannot hold Goans hostage by fighting against grants to English medium schools, .which is a smokescreen for propagating Marathi, a language of Maharasthra. Original Goans speak Konkani and not Marathi at home.

The people of Goa want to ask Uday Bhembre, Arvind Bhatikar, Pundalik Naik etc whether they have sold their souls to the sectarian BBSM? How come they are okay with this communal outfit and puppet of the RSS claiming that BJP won on basis of Hindu votes alone? Is this not downright communal and highly vicious,? If the so called Konkani protagonists don't disassociate from the sectarian BBSM immediately, Konkani lovers and Goans in general must disown them.

Undertake a study they would realise the absurdity of their statement Hindus too want their children to study through English medium schools And those who speak about learning through Konkani medium send their own children to English medium schools

Hindu votes Who is Bhatikar kidding? Christians have voted for BJP and BJP supported candidates and that has nothing to do with the MoI language. BBSM if they undert study

BBSM has revealed its true character of being nothing more than a puppet of the RSS. That they are.openly urging the BJP govt.to jettison its commitment to continue grants to English.medium schools shows its true sectarian and cimmunal.character. Wonder how the likes of Uday Bhembre and Fr. Athaide are confortable in this company. The grants to Ebglush medium schools are benefitting.poor Hindu and Muslim children. Catholic children by and large.can afford to go to.private schools. Thousands of poor.Hindu parents have realised the hypocrisy of the so called BBSM and have decided to send their children to English medium schools. The BBSM better beware. Making it a communal.issue is a sugn if your desperation.and frustration. You can go to.Maharasthra as your real intention is to propagate Marathi, a language that is being.sidelined by English.in.Maharasthra itself.

I too agree with this. BJP has to understand the FACT that, the minorities particularly Muslims are never be the part of BJP, though you give them all the facilities, but still they are with Cong. Because they care only their reigion not any development. BJP is purely on Hindu Votes.
