I WANT TO GO HOME (By Dr Oscar Rebelo)

COVID 19 teaches us, I think, that nothing matters, absolutely nothing, in these grim times.Short of getting the dreaded virus and ending up on a ventilator, the only thing that matters is that you are HOME WITH YOUR FAMILY. Nothing, repeat nothing, could be more priceless than that.READ

Lock or Unlock, no larger gatherings for 6 months; please! (By Dr Oscar Rebello)

Love Modi or hate Modi, you can't fault this one historic decision of shutting the country down in one fell swoop. Nothing less would have worked! Once we get back to our factories and farms, there is one crack-down that must necessarily continue: No large gatherings for at least 6 months!READ

One Meter distance, please; The Virus is around you!!! (By Dr Oscar Rebello)

But as Delhi and Mumbai have demonstrated effectively, if you educate people to enter stores strictly 4 to 5 at a time and keep a mandatory safe distance of 1 metre outside when waiting it is possible to prevent the mayhem and chaos.READ

Goans are immune to COVID 19…. Really??

Frankly, I think our window of opportunity is over and my guess is we will see exponential increases in the infection rate and deaths in coming weeks. We refuse to heed scientific evidence coming out of China, Korea, Italy and Spain. This then brings me to my original poser. Are Goans immune to COVID 19?? READ

The virus, much to our disappointment, makes absolutely no distinction between Hindu or Muslim or Christian or Sikh. Certainly not the rich or poor. It just gets eveAryone. By their unmentionables. So if you are looking for a ray of sunshine, it's a very democratic virus.READ

You misfired Rama Jalmi.... Badly!!!

Can we insult Gods, in a deeply religious society, all in the name of freedom of expression?? The operative word is INSULT. It is not to be confused with questioning patriarchal, casteist and other ills that are prevalent in every religion and require revisiting, rethinking and reformation for the greater good of mankind.READ

Don’t misjudge Rohan Khaunte’s arrest!

Is this what Goa has descended to?? An elastic police force busy collaring helmetless drivers, turning a blind eye to the flourishing drug and sex trade and efficient at protecting the dubious "honour" of all BJP card-holding members?? A fascinating future indeed.READ

Will you; Ms Alina?

I am absolutely certain that Ms Alina Saldanha will also be vehemently vocal and up in arms when many of her comrades in the BJP, locally and nationally, abuse genuine Indian Muslim citizens as “Pakistanis” in the most vile and derogatory manner.READ

Vijai's Adventures!!!

So why Shivsena then?? Now that SS is the toast of Mumbai/ Maharashtra it makes sense to cosy up to them, promise the puffed up guys, an expansion into Goa and see if he can fill the GF coffers with Maharashtra money since most Goan industrialists are dead broke themselves.READ

As a Goan,, even though living in Mumbai we are praying for Jesus' s supernatural prevention of the predicted mayhem. We believe that the God of the impossible will do it!! God bless !!

Section 505(1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) addresses a wider canvas —spreading false and mischievous content that results in ‘fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquillity’.

This article does just that when a physician claims that he can see a tsunami

Aptly stated. It’s scary though...seems like we have thumbed our noses at the safe zone we were in and allowed mayhem entry which we are not adequately prepared to handle. Can only pray.

Well said Dr. Rebello. These dingbats who

ponce around as politicians kept shouting

GREEN GREEN and opened the borders, knowing fully well that Goa does not have the infrastructure to deal with a situation of such a magnitude. If they know what's good for them, they should reseal the borders IMMEDIATELY. Failing that they will be cremating bodies enmass on Miramar beach

Dr Irineu Antao Pereira |

Thank you for the wake up call Dr. Oscar! Frightening but true. Hard hitting yet imminent! The Sentinels have let fly in the carrier's and infected, through the trees; And It has come creeping in to strike us all down! Containment , isolation ( with no one paying real heed), Social Distancing have been words in the wind. You couldn't have expressed it more clearly and creatively! Will need the roses to smell, when all hell breaks loose. It won't be a picnic at the beach! Respect to all medical staff, our unsung heroes and those who put their lives on the line. May they stay protected! God help us all.

Luiza Gera |

As the impending Tsunami plays out, what is down played by media portends catastrophy. The fodder for the virus will be our frontline bravehearts mauled by the insensitivity of market goers. Whisper a prayer for all.

Sirur |

Crisp n clear as always!
