India may lead to anarchy: Bhushan

India will lead to anarchy like in Pakistan if the existing system of concentrating power in the hands of private sector in the name of liberalized economy continues for the next five to ten years, says Prashant Bhushan, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party.

The lawyer-cum-politician was in Goa to address a public meeting on the background of controversial Lokayukta being passed by the BJP-led Manohar Parrikar government in the winter session of the Assembly.

“This is the last opportunity we have”, he appealed to the packed audience at the Institute Menezes Braganza hall.

Bhushan also observed that depriving the villagers to benefit the private sector mafia would ultimately lead to rise in Maoist activities if not corrected immediately.

He listed out several industrial houses, especially Reliance of Ambanis as well as mining mafias like Vedanta who have achieved control over the resources like water, electricity, transport and even mining.

“They control our livelihood, the government, the politicians and even the media today, making it impossible for the affected common people to get justice”, said Bhushan in his one-hour long speech.

Due to this, he said, corruption has also increased in leaps and bounds.

He appealed to the audience to demolish this centralized power through electoral politics.

“Our vision thus is not only good governance but changing this basic structure of governance and giving power to the people not only once in five years but deciding major issues through plebiscite from time to time”, said Bhushan.
