Franky Monteiro bags RTI activist award

 

Franky Monteiro from Loutolim is the first to bag the RTI activist award from Goa.

He has been awarded with late Waman Vishnu Kamat RTI activist award, instituted by Kamat family from Madkai.

The RTI activist would be given the award at the second RTI convention, to be held at Siolim tomorrow.

The award was announced last year at the first RTI convention held in Madkai, by veteran journalist Prakash Kamat.

 

The award winner was chosen by a three-member panel, comprising of Aires Rodrigues, Albertina Almeida and Dr Dattaram Desai, President of Goa RTI Forum.

The award comprises of Rs.5000 and a citation, declared Digambar Naik, vice president of Goa RTI Forum.

WHAT I THINK RTI ACT IS STILL NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO MY EXPERINCE THE FINE WHICH THEY INPOSE IS NOT CORECT AS THEY MAKE FOUR TIME MONEY OF THAT FINE SPECIALY THE PANCHAYAT SECARATARY ON COSTAL BELT AREA THEY MAKE MONEY IN LAKHS WHAT IS THESE FINE OF RTI FOR THEM WHICH IS NOTHING IT SHOULD BE A SUSPENCION ON THE GOVERMENT OFFICAIAL WHEN THEY DONT GIVE IT ON THR RIGHT TIME THAN I THINK IT WILL BE THE MOST POWERFULL TOOLTO FINISH CORUPCTION. GOVERMENT WORKES SHOULD DO THEIR JOB GOOOD AND PROPERLY THAN PEOPLE OF GOA WILL GET THEIR RIGHTS
