Alina cut to size, to make Arlekar Forest and Env Minister; Dhawalikars intact
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 04 October 2015 14:16 IST
No PWD, no Transport, no Education. Cutting Alina Saldanha to size, Rajendra Arlekar is now the Forest and Environment Minister.
Yesterday’s VVIP Speaker Rajendra Arlekar has been pushed down last on the list of ministers, by giving him Dayanand Mandrekar’s Panchayat and Alina’s Forest & Environment.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar reallocated the portfolios today, giving away his RDA to Alina, in addition to Science & Technology and Museums she was already holding.
The list was released to the media today afternoon after getting consent of Governor Mridula Sinha.
It needs to be seen whether the list would be rearranged, by pushing Arlekar up, while issuing the notification tomorrow.
Parsekar also appears to have taken away Information & Publicity from Milind Naik and held with himself, since it is not seen in the list of Naik.
Any portfolio, which is not seen in front of any particular minister, is normally considered to be the CM’s portfolio.
There is absolutely no change in any other portfolio.
All the speculations of giving most powerful portfolios to Arlekar by stripping off Dhawalikar brothers have thus been proved wrong.
Parsekar, the Principal, has also not parted away with his education portfolio.
Arlekar was sworn in as the 12th minister in Parsekar government, by filling the vacancy of Mickky Pacheco, who is presently serving six-month jail term.
Mickky, who had RDA ministry, had to resign in April after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction for six-month imprisonment for assaulting a government official in 2010.
While taking away Panchayat from Mandrekar and Forest & Environment from Alina, CM Parsekar gave away the RDA to Alina and took back the Information & Publicity from Milind.
Information & Publicity is the departmental head of Entertainment Society of Goa, which organises IFFI in Goa.
The 46th edition of 10-day IFFI would begin on 20 November this year.
